Test Reliability
Record the reliability values printed on the visual-field report. They decide whether the field is usable before the driving rules are applied.
Enter the false-positive value from the source test rather than choosing a preference. A false positive means the patient responded when no stimulus was presented. Above 20% makes standard Esterman evidence unreliable and should trigger repeat testing or manual review.
About this tool & limitationsRead once before clinical use
Decision support only
The driver licensing authority makes the final licensing decision. This tool helps a clinician apply Austroads rules deterministically; it does not replace clinical judgment.
Not a TGA-listed medical device
DRIVE App is not a registered or certified medical device. The clinician remains responsible for the final assessment and any report sent to the licensing authority.
Your data stays on your device
Every assessment runs entirely in your browser. No grid points, patient information, or test details are sent to any server.
Manual entry only
Image upload and automatic parsing are not part of this version. Mark missed points by hand against the source printout.
Do not enter patient identifiers
The diagnosis and free-text fields are not encrypted at rest in your browser. Do not enter names, Medicare numbers, dates of birth, or any other identifying details.
Authority and version
All rules trace to Austroads “Assessing Fitness to Drive” 2022, Section 10.2. Esterman grid coordinates verified against Carl Zeiss Meditec / Humphrey HFA3 (Fujimoto et al. 2024). Medmont coordinates from official MXF template (March 2026).
DVF v0.2.0 — Built by Dr Simon Chen, optometrist (Sydney).
